Greater Saint Cloud’s Top 5 Websites

This is probably counterintuitive for a web designer to do, but I appreciate the hard work that people put into a good looking website. I went through tons of businesses and organizations in and around Saint Cloud, Minnesota, and the ones with the best looking websites made a short list. My top five favorite websites in Saint Cloud are listed, and when I can find the creative agency behind it, I've mentioned them.

1. Great River Children's Museum

Great River Childrens Museums Website

This project appears to have been done by several creative agencies in Saint Cloud. In such a competitive field, it makes me happy to see such incredible teamwork.

The colors, shapes, and energy in this website make it pop. The photography is crisp, and the way photos are used against certain color backdrops make it feel unique.

Great River Children's Museum is one of my family's favorite places to go in Saint Cloud.

2. Jupiter Moon Ice Cream

Jupiter Moons Website

I know, I know. Jupiter Moon is located in St. Joe. But, did you know that during the summer they serve ice cream at Munsinger Gardens? They do ice cream flights, where you can try a few of their signature flavors in one go.

I'm taking a guess on the creative agency behind this website, but from the photos, I believe it to be Switchboard. They have truly set a standard when it comes to web design, videography, photography, and coffee.

This website really plays into the concept of space, calling reviews "Transmissions," and a very unique space background on some of the pages.

3. Bravo Burrito

Bravo Burritos Website

Bravo Burrito is a local favorite. It's good quality food at a good price.

This website is clean, inviting, and stands out from other restaurants. In the picture, you can see the small and seemingly insignificant detail of the "WHO" and the top of Mike's head being just slightly overlapped on the picture above. Whoever did this website took the time to think of these little details that really make it pop.

Also, what a cool logo with a triple B.

4. Third Street Brewhouse

Third Street Brewhouse in Cold Spring, MN, also known as Cold Spring Brewing Co., has a rich history in the area. We got to partner with them in capturing some of that history with the Stearns History Museum and AIA MN.

I think what really catches my attention is the 3D element of the site. I feel like I am experiencing their business, not just observing it. The graphic designer added the texture of condensation on the cans, making it feel more real. This is a great example of creativity. There isn't "too much," the website is truly a reflection of the brand.

5. Grizzly's Wood Fired Grill and Bar

Grizzlys Wood Fire Grill and Bar Website Homepage

Grizzly's website is extremely basic, but catches attention on first paint. The video loads in quickly showcasing their wood fired grill, and the videographer absolutely crushed how the flames engulf the whole screen. From there, it shows their delicious food in great close up shots. Even writing this makes me want to go enjoy a steak.

Conclusion

A good chef loves a break. You may make some of the best food, but when someone else makes good food, you're not going to decline its deliciousness.

A good web designer shouldn't be any different. The more we learn from other people's strengths and weaknesses, the better we all get.

Saint Cloud has incredible talent in the creative industry. It would be crazy to deny that. That is why I have taken the time to highlight some of my favorite websites in Saint Cloud, good work deserves to be recognized. If you did one of these websites and you have found this article, I would love to buy you a coffee and ask you how much time you spent on it. Plus, any tips you can share with a young entrepreneur would be greatly appreciated.
